WebbThe mean cell residence time (MCRT) is an average measure of how long the microorganisms remain in contact with the substrate (food source). MCRT is also known as solids retention time (SRT). MCRT is not a mass balance, but rather a measure of how many days microbes are kept in the activated sludge process before being wasted.
