Improved casing and riser wear technology

Witryna2 lip 2024 · A new approach was introduced in this paper to enhance the EM logs to detect the downhole casing corrosion. Corrosion data were collected from different fields (around 500 data points) to build a probabilistic approach to assess the casing failure based on the average metal loss from the EM corrosion log. WitrynaThis program applies wear technology to predict casing and riser wear to be expected during drilling operations. The observations and opinions expressed in these articles are based on my 20-year association with the subject of casing and riser wear. Much of this time was spent at Maurer Engineering, under the direction of Dr. W. C. Maurer.

WitrynaThe critical features of the RAZOR BACK tool render it more effective, more robust, and safer to use in wellbore cleanup and casing scraping operations. View WitrynaFollowing initial mini-riser development, the technology has been continually improved. The first step was the introduction of the spring pin which supports the mini-riser on green sand patterns and creates a sand layer between the riser and casting in order to avoid contact of the exothermic material and the sand. The Witryna1 kwi 2000 · The colder temperatures near the deepwater seafloor actually make the riser material more susceptible to wear, Prosser said. In tests, samples of X-80 steel used in riser joints were compared to N-80 steel material used in casing. It was found that the riser material wore 5-15 times faster than the casing. genetically different offspring
